Amazing Biofuels Facts:
  • Biofuels are non-toxic and renewable.

  • Any gasoline or diesel vehicle can use at least one kind of biofuel without any vehicle modifications.

  • Biofuels and biofuel blends enhance a vehicle's performance qualities.

  • No expensive armies are needed to protect biofuels producers.

  • No lives are lost in procuring biofuels.

  • Our Blue Sun Biodiesel B20 can increase lubricity by 400% vs. standard petroleum diesel and increase engine protection by 20% to 50% vs. standard ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel

  • Biofuels are made in the U.S.A. from soybeans, corn and other cellulosic products

  • Use of biofuels can reduce air pollution by 10% to 85% as compared with gasoline.

  • Use of biofuels reduce our reliance on petroleum and imported oil.

  • Money spent on biofuels stays in the U.S. whereas money spent on petroleum fuels may contribute to funding terrorists.

  • The USDA estimates that we could displace 30% to 40% of the gasoline used in the U.S. with biofuels produced from agricultural waste and low-cost cellulosic materials.

Amazing E85 Ethanol Flexible-Fuel Vehicle Facts

  • U.S. car manufacturers offer more then 20 different models of flex-fuel vehicles.

  • Flex-fuel vehicles COST NO MORE than regular vehicles.

  • More than 5 million flex-fuel vehicles are now on the road.

  • A Ford Explorer that gets 15 mpg on gasoline only, will get the equivalent of 75 mpg on the gasoline portion when using E85.

Every month, Santa Fe drivers prevent
50 to 60 tons of fossil carbon dioxide (CO2) from entering the atmosphere by filling up with biofuels.

New Mexico Biodiesel Alliance
It's a great new forum for discussion of all things biodiesel related in New Mexico.

A revolutionary triple-alternative-fuels dispenser was officially dedicated in Santa Fe, New Mexico by New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.

The first of its kind in the nation and perhaps in the world, our twin triple-choice biofuels pump provides biodiesel and two grades of ethanol to drivers seeking to curb their use of petroleum fuels. The clean, renewable fuels include Premium Biodiesel B20, a blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel, Ethanol E85, a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline and E10 Unleaded, a blend of 10% ethanol and 90% regular unleaded gas.

The concept behind the triple fuel dispenser is to provide "something for everyone," according to Charles Bensinger, Biofuels Program Director for Renewable Energy Partners of New Mexico. The non-profit organization developed the concept, raised the grant money for the station and administers its operation.

"Our intention is to clearly demonstrate that domestically produced, renewable transportation fuels can be used by anyone right now in their existing vehicles without modification. We have made these fuels available at a typical gas station at a competitive price, and they out-perform their petroleum-only counterparts. Best of all, no wars need be fought and no drilling in sensitive environmental areas is required to obtain them. Plus, when you purchase biofuels, you're supporting American farmers and keeping your dollars in the U.S.A."

Anyone can fill up at the triple-fuel pump and reduce their consumption of petroleum fuels by at least 10% to 20%.
